Using the head of Medusa as an instantly recognizable brand, Versace has always had a connection to Greek mythology. It makes sense, then, that the heroic masculine fragrance was named after Eros, the Greek god of love. Originally launched as an EDT in 2012, this highly concentrated fragrance reformulation keeps the best parts of the crowd-pleasing signature scent but cranks up the volume to the max. Powerful, passionate and bold, it is best served as an evening fragrance and sits firmly in the amber family. Sensual and rich. The fragrance opens with a sparkling cocktail of lemon, mandarin, and litice cubeba (a unique aromatic ingredient with green undertones), then dries down to a woody and honeyed base of benzoin, cashmeran, patchouli, vanilla, and vetiver. In my opinion, this is the perfect fragrance for date night: it lasts the cycle, builds inner strength and confidence, and has a kind of forbidden charm.
