Beginners will love the machine’s ability to deliver form signals in real-time based on sensor input, so you can be sure you’re getting the most out of every rep. The Tonal signature sets it apart as well. It mounts directly to your wall (no DIY needed—trained installers will do it for you upon purchase) and only requires about four feet of space—making it a great option for those who live in small apartments. However, at $4,000, this device definitely falls into the luxury category of home gym equipment.
Cable machines are a staple in most gyms, and there’s a reason: You can do a lot with them. For our money, the Titan Fitness Functional Trainer offers the most versatile cable trainer you can get at home.

Completing a full body workout with the Titan Fitness Functional Trainer is effective and simple. Our testers couldn’t believe how easy it was to switch between weights, thanks to the ultra-smooth aluminum rollers (a much-needed change from plastic, which is the standard for cable machines and is much less durable). Not to mention, it also comes with two ergonomic D-handles, a short bar, a long bar, an ankle strap, dual stirrup handles, sling handles, and single and double D-handles – so you’ll be good to go. Starting from the moment you set up this home gym equipment.
A nine-pound machine that delivers a full-body workout may seem too good to be true, but when you meet the portable Maxpro SC, you’ll get it. It can produce up to 300 lbs of resistance no matter where you set it up.

This travel-friendly product weighs just nine pounds and can easily be carried in a backpack or duffel. If you decide to purchase the wall mount, you can unlock hundreds of additional exercises on the Maxpro app.
Is the WalkingPad Tone Up Workout Station a magic trick or a home gym machine? In our opinion, it’s both — and with its diverse offering of cables, weights, and more, it’s our favorite choice for fitness beginners.

If you’re dipping your toes into weight training, the WalkingPad Tone Up Workout Station serves as a tasting menu for many of the machines you’d typically find at a gym, including a cable machine, free weights, and a weight bench. Three different priced offers let you choose how many features you want, and you can keep adding more later. Bonus: Unlike some other home gym machines, the WalkingPad Tone Up Workout Station isn’t an eyesore. Wooden surfaces combined with a leather pad make this one of the best home exercise machines we’ve tried.
If you’re looking for a single workout investment, you won’t find anything better than the Force USA G20 All-In-One Trainer, which is basically 11 machines in one.
Take our test
While we won’t list every machine in the Force USA G20 All-In-One Under-the-Trunk Trainer, some of our favorites include the power rack, functional trainer, Smith machine, pull-down, and low row. Considering it costs $6,000, we actually expected this home gym machine to go the extra mile, but the fact that it supports three users at the same time and includes two sets of 289-pound weights exceeded our expectations.
There’s no denying that this machine is an investment and sucks up space, but if you have a garage that you want to turn into a gym, you’ll be hard-pressed to find anything with more workout options.

Think of the Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym as the Swiss Army knife of home gym machines. With just 63 x 49 inches of space, this product replaces the cable machine, upright press, and leg extension machine. Bowflex boasts that this sophisticated design opens the door to over 50 at-home exercises, which is impressive when you consider that many expensive home gym machines can’t do this.
